LiveJournal is so old meme. I'd decided to make the regression back to maintaining an actual blog @ my domain. There are a few reasons, but namely that I am prodding myself to be more active with art/illustration in my spare time (which included venturing back into DeviantArt D:), and want to start designing websites again. I'm reaaaaaally rusty at the moment, so much so that it took me weeks to sort out a Wordpress template I can actually tolerate. One which, mind you, I am still tweaking.
That, and LiveJournal is so tired. I have been using it for a long time now. I'm bored with LJ bots and the community aspect of LJ and how much it is changing into a social networking site. I will still continue using it – probably just for REALLY personal stuff, fandom-related nonsense, keeping up with communities (and all of you, of course). So don't abandon me yet. The perspective I am looking at for my new blog is a more structured, and mostly professional one (though, you know, I can't help the occasional derailment when I need to vent). Anyhow, I took the completely original route and purchased:
Mostly because I have been considering making primarily a portfolio, with a few side pages. Jacomus has been my ~internet pseudonym for some time now, so that's most appropriate seeing how pretty much any variation of my actual name was taken when I was looking at names. The NEW blog is simply http://log.jacomus.net/ — if anyone is running a similar kind of site (art/personal/portfolio-type stuff), talk to me about networking.
Finally, for those actually interested in reading it and find it too bothersome to check, I have created a feed for LiveJournal. If you add
jacomuslog to your friends-list, you will be able to display the posts on your LJ as if it were my LJ account. I have a feeling I will cross-post anything I find relevant, anyway, but for the most part I'm sure I won't be bothered; I can barely maintain one blog. :P
Now to actually start posting! Uck. Please tell me if you notice anything buggy about the page. I haven't edited a Wordpress theme (least of all as extensively as I did the Monochrome one) before, so I can only go by what I see.
